Amman Citadel

The Citadel Mountain is one of the seven mountains of the city of Amman, which the Ammonites took since ancient times as the seat of their rule in the city, and after them the Greeks, Romans and Byzantines who occupied the city in succession until the Islamic conquest in the seventh century AD, when the Umayyad Palace was built on its summit.
